Delivering Critical Care When Every Second Counts

ree

Project Overview

The Aero Medical Evacuation Team (AMET) project was established by IQPactGroup to provide a dedicated rapid-response medical capability for organizations operating in some of the world’s most difficult environments. The program focuses on Casevac and Medevac operations, search and rescue missions, and the deployment of advanced medical equipment on board aircraft, ensuring that critical care is accessible even in the most remote or high-risk regions.

As part of our broader mission to deliver cost-effective, reliable, and life-saving medical solutions, AMET demonstrates our ability to combine logistical expertise, international medical standards, and operational readiness into a single, integrated service.

Objectives of the Project

The AMET initiative was designed with three core objectives:

  1. Provide rapid aeromedical evacuation (Casevac & Medevac): Ensuring timely extraction and in-flight medical care for patients in urgent need.

  2. Conduct specialized search and rescue missions: Extending support to conflict, post-conflict, and disaster-affected areas where traditional services are unavailable.

  3. Deploy portable medical capability on board: Equipping flights with essential medical devices and life-saving medication to deliver hospital-level care in transit.

Operational Scope

The AMET project supports a wide range of operational scenarios, including:

  • Conflict & Post-Conflict Environments – Responding to emergencies in volatile regions where security and access are limited.

  • Remote Locations – Providing extraction and medical support in areas without functioning healthcare infrastructure.

  • Humanitarian & Industrial Operations – Supporting NGOs, governments, and private sector clients working in high-risk environments.

  • Disaster Response – Delivering emergency care during natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, or severe storms.

Each mission is carried out under U.S., European, and World Health Organization (WHO) standards, with a strict emphasis on patient safety, accountability, and efficiency.

Casevac and Medevac Operations

At the heart of AMET’s work is its aeromedical evacuation capability.

  • Casevac (Casualty Evacuation): Rapid extraction of injured personnel from combat zones, unstable regions, or disaster sites. This often involves patients in critical condition requiring immediate stabilization.

  • Medevac (Medical Evacuation): Transporting patients to specialized medical facilities while providing continuous, advanced in-flight care to ensure stability during transit.

Each operation is staffed by a multi-disciplinary medical team, including paramedics, flight nurses, anesthesiology specialists, and trauma experts, supported by aviation professionals trained to manage medical emergencies mid-flight.

Search and Rescue Missions

In addition to evacuation, AMET provides a dedicated search and rescue (SAR) capability.

These missions are carried out in:

  • Conflict and post-conflict settings where civilians, aid workers, or personnel may be stranded.

  • Remote terrains including deserts, mountains, or maritime environments.

  • Natural disaster zones where infrastructure has collapsed.

Our SAR teams operate with specialized training, rapid deployment protocols, and close coordination with humanitarian and governmental agencies, ensuring maximum efficiency in highly unstable conditions.

Deployment of Portable Medical Equipment

One of the project’s most innovative features is the integration of portable medical equipment into each mission. Aircraft are transformed into flying intensive care units (ICUs), allowing treatment to begin the moment patients are on board.

Key equipment includes:

  • Portable ventilators for respiratory support.

  • Cardiac monitors and defibrillators for advanced cardiac life support.

  • Infusion pumps and trauma kits for precision treatment.

  • Comprehensive packs of life-saving medications.

This ensures that care is uninterrupted and that patients are stabilized before arrival at hospitals or trauma centers.

Implementation Approach

The AMET project was implemented through a structured approach:

  1. Assessment of Operational Needs: Identifying high-risk regions and client requirements for evacuation, medical staffing, and logistical support.

  2. Team Recruitment and Training: Building a pool of highly skilled medical professionals trained in trauma, mass casualty, and in-flight care.

  3. Integration with Aviation Assets: Partnering with air operators to equip aircraft with necessary medical technologies.

  4. Operational Readiness: Establishing 24/7 global deployment capacity with contingency planning for crisis zones.

  5. Standards and Compliance: Ensuring all missions meet or exceed international medical and aviation safety protocols.

Impact and Results

Since its launch, the AMET project has delivered measurable impact:

  • Dozens of successful Casevac and Medevac missions carried out in conflict and disaster zones.

  • Lives saved through in-flight critical care, where patients were stabilized mid-air and delivered safely to specialized facilities.

  • Strengthened local capacity through training collaborations and knowledge transfer.

  • Global operations across multiple countries, proving adaptability in diverse environments.

Beyond numbers, the greatest success of AMET lies in its ability to restore hope and provide life-saving care in regions where healthcare access is almost nonexistent.

Conclusion

The AMET project illustrates IQPactGroup’s expertise in integrating medical capability, logistical planning, and emergency response into a single, effective solution. By combining Casevac and Medevac operations, search and rescue missions, and advanced on-board medical deployment, we have created a model that ensures patients receive the highest standard of care — no matter where they are.

For organizations operating in high-risk or remote settings, AMET represents not just a service, but a lifeline of trust, reliability, and life-saving expertise.
